We are a passionate and educated team committed to preserving the natural beauty of Mount Rinjani. We work to protect the environment from threats such as plastic waste left behind by irresponsible hikers. This waste endangers the mountain and its wildlife.
Our porters and guides are well-trained and fully understand the importance of maintaining a clean environment. Every piece of plastic and material we bring up the mountain is carefully counted and tracked to ensure it is brought back down and properly disposed of at our office.
We follow the 3R principle: Reduce ➡️ Reuse ➡️ Recycle.
To reduce waste, we minimize the use of packaged goods such as instant noodles, sugar, salt, and other ingredients. We remove unnecessary packaging and transfer the contents into reusable containers, preventing plastic waste from reaching the mountain.
We actively support recycling, Plastic waste such as bottles and wrappers collected from the mountain is brought back to our office. Once enough has been gathered, it is sent to a recycling team for processing and reuse. We hope our efforts inspire others to do the same.
We empower local youth,
Many young people in our area face economic hardship and cannot afford higher education. We invite them to join our team, offering them support, encouragement, and at least three months of English classes. We then train them to become professional trekking guides, giving them a meaningful and sustainable livelihood.
